RE: winterable class C brands

Bigfoot x 5! I have camped in my Bigfoot at -25C for 3 nights and had no issues with anything freezing. I do like the idea of adding a ceramic heater to help out the furnace.

RE: Towing ATVs w/ Class C. Advise needed

I tow a 16' enclosed trailer behind by 30' Bigfoot. I like the security that the enclosed trailer provides, plus storage for helmets, gloves, fuel, etc. The MH pulls the trailer great, do not even know it is there, except when looking in the rear camera!

RE: Can I run a rooftop a/c unit thru an invertor?

I am building my solar system to handle using the AC for small periods of time (1-2 hours). With the right solar/battery/inverter combination, you will be able to run your AC along with other appliances. My theory is that if it is hot enough outside there is enough sun to recharge the batteries and power the inverter through the panels.

RE: Battery education here

Instead of using your TV alternator, why not use a solar panel and a charge controller. This way it will charge all day, and the controller will protect the batteries.

RE: Wife discovers gas stove

When we ordered our MH, we deleted the oven option and now have a huge cupboard for storage.

RE: What is it about holiday week/weekends?

The holiday crowds are why we generally boondock in dispersed camping areas, visit family and friends, or look for a 55+ park for the 3-day holiday weekends. We do the same thing (except for the 55+ part!)
